Easy to use!

Vorteile:

The TUIO interface is really clean and simple, which makes it really easy to navigate (a welcome change from the last payment system which, as I said previously, looked like it was built in 1998 and left that way). When I did run into questions, TUIO got back to me right away and took care of the concern for me immediately, and they were very personable and professional about it.

Nachteile:

The time I spent looking around and then calling customer service could have been avoided with some simple explanatory text and (potentially) making some options available to users. I would have liked to have the option to choose either the payment plan that was set up for me, OR to pay the fee in one lump sum (note: when I spoke to TUIO about this, they processed the lump sum for me, but being able to do this without a call to customer service would have been nice). Additionally, both my credit card and my bank account are in the TUIO system, yet for this particular payment I was only offered the option of using my bank account. I normally use my credit card for everything in order to take advantage of its perks, so again, just a little explanatory text as to why I didn't have the choice would have been nice. No one likes being left with questions, especially when it comes to our money!

Thank you for the review Dori, great to hear how you enjoy using the system as a parent! You could contact us directly through the help beacon in your TUIO account anytime you need. The school may only be giving the option for bank account payment on the Tuition only, but if you ask them they may have accommodated you to use credit card (and of course we could have assisted from support). For other payments you should be able to use the credit card and take advantage of those convenience points. You should be able to change payment plan before confirming payment, next year I am sure the school will give that option to select it as parent.

Not intuitive or easy to adjust for our needs

Kommentare: Not thrilled. The system meets our needs to a degree but has needed a lot of attention from our administrator to overcome the shortcomings. Some features that are integral to the function of a school are not offered at all with TUIO at this time.

Direct and immediate deposit of funds. Options for payment for our customers.

Nachteile:

Editing and changing things that have been entered is not possible. We have to redo everything. The system only allows us to connect the account to one email address when a number of our clients have 2 emails associated with their account. This is ridiculous. For students with divorced parents it makes ZERO sense. We have had a lot of time and energy spent on making this program work for us, and we are frustrated with the experience overall. If someone wants to adjust a payment method they have to redo the entire enrollment document.

Hi Susan, Thank you for sharing your feedback. Flexibility and customization is a core component of the TUIO system. You can edit invoices, payment plans, and forms at any time for instant changes, individually or in bulk. For students with divorced parents who are paying separately they can have their invoices split up on separate accounts so each parent can manage their own payments independently, without having access to the other parent's account and information. Payment methods and enrollment documents are separate items in TUIO. A payment method change would not impact the enrollment document, and vice versa. Parents can change their payment method at any time, and likewise they can easily resubmit an enrollment document with updates, since the system pre-populates their previous responses. Great Customer Service

Kommentare: We are pleased with our partnership with TUIO - from the integration to the day to day operations - they have been with us every step of the way.

Vorteile:

The TUIO team is very responsive and able to answer or resolve questions within 24 hours if not sooner. They always provide resources to help guide us in the right direction.

Nachteile:

Some of the reports in TIOU are quite lengthy with lots of fields. It would be nice to be able to streamline the reports option so you can select the fields you need to see.

GREAT COMPANY

Vorteile:

The ease of use for both parents and school. It's cost effective. TUIO is very helpful and gets back to me with in the hour during business hours and with in 24 hours after hours.

Nachteile:

The only things our staff notice, is when we print the application, the subheadings are very light in color. Thats it!

Promising but Not There Yet

Kommentare: There are some aspects that are not as intuitive as they should be (such as resending an activation email or the fact that an "active" parent does not mean that they are fully onboarded), but setting up payment plans and enrolling students was fairly easy.

The onboarding was quite easy and the platform is pretty easy to use.

Nachteile:

We were devastated to learn that TUIO doesn't allow families to set up multiple payers for an enrollment. For families who have split households or get help from relatives or subsidy programs, etc., this adds an undue burden which feels discriminatory. It might seem like a big deal to the folks at TUIO who have made a promising platform, but the implications for our school culture and relationship with our families are significant.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback Jake. We have always provided support for split households and family members getting help from another payor. TUIO was made to be as inclusive and robust as possible for any school/daycare organization's Tuition Management needs. TUIO provides the flexibility to enroll students under multiple payors who each receive a portal to manage their payments. Parents can change their payment method at any time within a single enrollment, so different family members can set up payment for a given invoice. Regarding the parent onboarding and activation, we just added a new filter option for Parent Account Status so you can filter out active vs inactive parents, and send the appropriate automated notifications.

TUIO Support is Amazing!

The support staff at TUIO is amazing, they are quick and very helpful.

Nachteile:

The only 2 thing that I would like to see developed is to have a conversation to happen if a stop payment occurs before it happens. Sometimes the student is still enrolled in the program and they do a stop payment and that results in a charge. but if a conversation could occur before that would be better. The second thing that i would highly suggest to be improved is how withdrawals show up on parent's statements. since it is a series of numbers some people don't recognize what the payment is for.

Kommentare: Apart from the initial learning curve (it was my first time using this kind of program) it has been great. We had a manual spreadsheet system prior and TUIO has saved tons of time.

Easy to use, snappy payment system

Kommentare: So far, we have only used it as a payment system, which is what it started out as. Next, we plan to add a registration piece, where parents and students will fill out their registration information directly into the system, something we don't currently have. After that, we would like to use it more for student information, and if it works out well, we would then ditch Zoho. (We really like Zoho as a database, but it wasn't made for schools and is not ideal in that regard.) The biggest thing Tuio would have to improve before we leave Zoho is its communication piece. In Zoho, we can make attractively designed mass messages to send to parents; there is no such capability yet in Tuio.We have been quite satisfied with Tuio's software and especially appreciative of their customer support. A couple of years ago, we did a total re-do of all of our software systems. We have been happiest with Tuio.

Vorteile:

We love Tuio! It was fairly easy to learn, the interface is attractive and generally easy to use, it is has a very quick response time, and the customer support is stellar. I like that it's a small company, so we know the people who support us. They always try to help us when we don't understand something, or help us to make something work when our company's round peg doesn't fit well into their square hole (not unique to Tuio -- we have that problem with lots of software -- but they are eager to help us find workarounds). They are also open to suggestions, particularly since the product is fairly new and they are working on building it.Also, a huge plus is for us is that there was no setup fee, and instead of a monthly charge, Tuio charges by the transaction. It is affordable for our small school, and doing it by transaction means that we have to pay less when we have fewer transactions (and less money to pay a monthly fee).

Nachteile:

--We have students in many countries, but there are some issues with Tuio in that regard. Part of that is their payment processor, which doesn't work as well with payments in some countries, a problem we didn't have with our previous processor. Also, their parent/student contact information fields are rigidly set to (XXX) XXX-XXXX format, which does not fit our foreign customers. So, for schools that only have customers in the US or Canada (Tuio is from Canada), neither of these would be issues at all. --We are subscription based, but Tuio is designed around defined payment plans. This has created some headaches for us. They have said they are working on creating the ability to have subscription plans, so once that is done, this will no longer be a problem for us.--We do a substantial percentage of our payments through PayPal, but they don't have a way to incorporate PayPal, so we have to enter PayPal transactions as cash, which is not convenient.--While Tuio is mostly easy to use, some things here and there are not intuitive.

Thank you for the 5 star review J Lee, it's extremely detailed and helpful. I'm confident we can have you fully onboarded to TUIO and away from those cumbersome platforms in no time. With regards to the communications piece, we are going to expand on what we have currently and add the ability to make templates and do more broadcasting. In the meantime, you could send mass messages on TUIO with a pdf attachment (that was attractively designed), but I understand where you are coming from. We are working on a global search, support for international phone numbers, and we still have the "payment clock" in our development pipeline. So glad that you are happy with TUIO and made that decision.

Reasonable Tuition Payment Platform

Kommentare: The setup process was relatively easy and the customer support is great.

Vorteile:

I like the invoicing, payment options and discount options. I feel they have really thought of every option needed to process payment for Tuition and Registration Fees.

Nachteile:

I was very excited to offer our parents a place to pay their tuition and enroll, all in one place. When I created the enrollment forms, I was very disappointed with the lack to customize and making the forms look beautiful. It seems like they forgot that schools might need a different way to handle field trips. There is also little customization when it comes to automating messages after a form is completed.

This week we added a new custom field that should give you more flexibility to present information on the form and add various elements that should come in handy. The field is called 'Content', please give it a try or reach out to [email protected] for more info. Our forms can be used for field trips, I would love to hear more and will contact you on that piece. You can customize the message sent out when reviewing the registrations after a form is completed, but I'll see what we can add for the automated element as well!

Great value, very user friendly

Kommentare: Overall it has provided a fast, easy way to organize and charge for our enrolments in various programs.

Vorteile:

As enrolment and payment processing software it's very user friendly and when needed, the customer service is fast and helpful. It is easy to manage and change invoices and refund full or partial invoices. The way registrations are set up is flexible with multiple options.

Nachteile:

As an SIS it is not fully developed. There are issues with enrolments in different programs causing duplicate students. Each enrolment is linked only to the parent who pays the invoice.

You can absolutely easily see how much you've received, as the deposit payout amounts are shown on the invoice export (with the corresponding invoices for reconciliation purposes), as well as the applicable fees. We are transparent about the processing fees involved with online payments and we have columns for them on the export for calculating your expenses. I'll have support reach out to you to spotlight how easy it is to reconcile your payments. Even big 3rd party auditors have given us unsolicited feedback of how easy the TUIO export made their life during a school audit compared to previous systems the school used.

Great customer support

Vorteile:

The software is easy to use and intuitive. Customer support is very accessible and typically has answers to questions in a timely manner. I've often used the chat when needing support and almost always I get the answer that is needed and when it is not I usually get a follow up when issues are identified.

Nachteile:

Integration was not difficult at all and someone was always available if I had any difficulty. Perhaps a more comprehensive account interface might be a little easier. For example: Parent as the account holder and children listed under each parent instead of each child has their own account and is associated with each parent. What you described in terms of the interface is already native in the software by using the 'Parents' tab you can view the parent account holder and all associated students that they have. You can even use the 3 vertical dot menu to view the related students and enrollments. Enrollments on TUIO are always a student enrolled in a program. Thank you for the review Harpinder. We added the export option on the student, parent, enrollment, and registration tabs in addition to the 'Invoices' tab export we had previously. So we took care of that for the most part. We are going to add a combined student/parent export as well going live this week! We will work on the second iteration of the conversations system to add the email and text message options. Hopefully when those are live we can get the "5 star" review!

Superior and Quick Customer Service

Kommentare: The overall experience on TUIO is superb, in particular, the customer service e-mail or telephone response is instantaneous in (real-time). I was astonishingly impressed with the way in which [sensitive content hidden]
responded to our cirumstances.

Vorteile:

TUIO is extremely user friendly and interactive because it enables the end user to navigate throughout the site and pin point the precise area that needs pivotal attention or what needs to be addressed. Precisely because it is so (transparent) is what makes it a necessary platform to run a business successully!

Nachteile:

The credit card fees are a bit too high for the clients as they have communicated this to us.

A great system

Vorteile:

The user interface is nice and clean. TUIO takes the hassle out of allowing parents to pay in instalments. Customer support has always been really fast and responsive, whether I've had a question about how something works or a feature request. And all payments have gone through as expected.

Nachteile:

There are exceptional cases where things can be confusing, for example, parents receiving an invoice for zero dollars that has a due date. The data export process for invoices is great, but refunds issued aren't easy to track with the exported data.

Thanks for the review Adina. Parents with an invoice discounted or credited to 0, you can use the 'Mark as Paid' feature so they are marked as paid at 0 amount before the due date. We have a component to do this automatically going live in the near future. Have a look at the 'Transactions' tab of the invoice export, which should make it a lot easier to see the refunds occurring on a given invoice. As you are aware an invoice can have multiple transaction so that is where the data is most visible! Always appreciate the feedback.

Usage of Tuio payment portal

This payment portal allows our parents to securely pay the tuition in a timely manner. They receive the invoices directly from the TUIO portal.

Thank you for the great review Helen! Your international parents can by all means access their TUIO account and they can also make a payment in the portal with their credit card. Only bank account payment is unavailable to them but if they wire funds from an international bank to you, you can mark their invoices as paid on TUIO so they can keep track otherwise.

Simple tuition management service

Vorteile:

Very quick onboarding and simple low pressure barrier to get started. Software itself is simple and cleanly designed and straightforward to use. We really liked the ability for families to manage their own payment methods and choosing a plan that suits them best. When they run into issues, they are able to reach out to TUIO's support directly which saves us a lot of overhead time. We are a learner-driven community and this allow us to live to that promise and not to need too many staffs to support the back office.

Nachteile:

Some UI/UX elements were confusing especially a new family is onboarded through the system. Given it's a startup company, we trust that they'll be able to hammer out and make improvements frequently.

After the recent update I can no longer add two separate accounts for students whose parents require this option. I have found a way around it, but it just isn't as convenient.

Good Bones, Needs Fleshing Out

It felt like there was six ways to do the same thing and only one way to get the information to present correctly. No ability to do partial payments on your own. Parent's need to approve when I make changes to their account... it was an uphill battle to learn the tips and tricks on how to work the system... should not feel that way.

School admin or TUIO support can accommodate partial payments if the parent ever needs by editing the invoice and adding an invoice for the remainder. TUIO automatically approves the invoice changes made after 5 days, so if the parent doesn't approve them it will get taken care of. TUIO is constantly acclaimed for our user friendliness and ease of use, so if you ever need help with the system, we are here to help!

We are unable to process credit cards if a parent is at the center and wants to make a payment. The system has not been updated to add our EIN number to the invoices which is necessary for tax credits for parents. Also when we enter student details TUIO only generates invoice with one parent name so if the other parent wants to get a FSA credit from work they are unable to do so and we have to give them a manual invoice. Group messaging is not possible yet

Kommentare: Absolutely loving our experience wiht TUIO. It was the best thing we did to switch over our billign and admissions. The team at TUIO is so kind and supportive.

Vorteile:

The software has made billing, admissions and operations so much more streamlined and manageable.

Nachteile:

There aren't really any cons. At the moment we are waiting on TUIO to implement assigning forms to one child at a time.

None. I hope the parents' bank information can be share in different program.

Hi Yanli, thank you for the kind review. Parent payment methods are kept in their unique parent account so they can confirm and apply it to as many programs as you need. They don't need to reenter the same information over and over.
