"A very good option to reinforce your language skills"
Kommentare: As a brazilian trilingual person (I spoke portuguese, english and spanish), it is a way for keep my language skills sharp, and also to learn about other languages. Nowdays I am learning japanese, and it has been a very good experience, I had contact with the language on the past, but even for a person which had not have it, the way which the App explain everything, is pretty easy and well guided. My mother is learning spanish using it, and it is awesome how she can talk with me and explain some complexes things using the skills which she learned through Duolingo.
Vorteile: The ease of use, the contents inside it, the exercises, the grammatic explanations are pretty good, also they have some "died languages", as latin, Irish, and some other dialects, which without this kind of technology would be tend to disappear.
Nachteile: Sometimes the exercises repeat so much, at point to make the user bored, but I know that some people learns with repetition. Therefore, I do not see so much advantage to choose the paid version of it.

"Learn so many languages for free!"
Kommentare: It changed the way I learn. It is so effective and flexible that I can devote few minutes to few hours every day and learn something every day.
Vorteile:
1. You can learn almost any language in the world for free in a user-friendly manner.
2. Rewards, points, stars, bonuses keep motivating you to learn more. There is no limit on how much you can practice.
3. There are stories, daily practice lessons, grammar tips to help you learn from the very beginning.
4. You can create streaks, double your points, wear attire for the Duo mascot.
5. You can practice, earn points, and clear checkpoints to motivate you.
6. There are listening and speaking exercises too.
7. You have leaderboards to compete.
8. You can follow friends and give them high five to encourage.
9. You can feel proud of the achievement badges that you earn with a lot of hard work.
10. You can clear your doubts by posting to people in the community groups while practicing lessons.
11. You can study multiple languages by adding as many courses as you want.
Nachteile:
1. There is no video interface to learn the nuances of a language.
2. If you give feedback for wrong sentences in rare cases, you may not hear back soon.
3. You cannot chat with friends you follow.
4. Sometimes you get the same sentences for practice which may defeat the very purpose of learning.

"Good app for start a lenguage"
Kommentare: It give me the push that i was need it to start the new language that i was afraid to start. Even if, after use it for a while, i preferred to move to a more single language focus apps
Vorteile: It's a really friendly-user interface, with a short period of adaptation to the different functionalities, it also uses the gamification scheme to hook the user.
Nachteile: With long term use it becomes clear that the app only gives you the very basic of each language

"Best language learning app"
Kommentare: Generally, i have had a great experience with Duolingo. I am actually still using it at the moment.
Vorteile: What i like most about Duolingo is the fact that it is absolutely free and out of all the other language learning apps, it has the widest variety of languages to learn; 37 to be exact. I also like the simplicity of the app. It's so easy to use even for the most ordinary person. The way the app is designed with funny animations is so welcoming that you can actually look forward to learning a language. I also love the way the app is designed to encourage the learner to not give up even when he or she has made a number of errors. Duolingo recognizes that language learning is not easy and patience is a required virtue so when one feels like throwing in the towel, the app is there to remind you in some way that it may be challenging, but it will all be worth it in the end. With all the positive attributes that the app possesses, i believe it is a great and fun tool that can even be used by children and families not just for learning, but for spending leisure.
Nachteile: What i dislike about this software is the lack of option for learning offline. I think learning should not be limited to strong internet connection. If there is a way that the software can be adjusted just a bit to accommodate learners who have poor internet connection, that would be wonderful so that learning goals can be reached faster. When it comes to the ads, there are some ads that are displayed that make me feel uncomfortable even as an adult. For instance If i was using Duolingo in public and some of these ads are shown, then people can question my character and probably any other learner's character.

"What is my experience with Duolingo?"
Kommentare: It's very well, In my experience is excellent for start to learn a language. But I think is necessary more things for be absolutely professional.
Vorteile: I loved it, because you can practice a new language writing, listening, spelling and all together. Also, the sections are organize for you keep learning daily. I like when send you a notification for study a new lesson, and how is easy for keep as a routine.
Nachteile:
Well, In Duolingo you can obtain gems for buy some extras resources such as themes, and gadgets; sometimes, Is expensive and you can't buy it. And the plus version quit ads, and give you more facilities for lessons. but I don't think is necessary for the price.
Another problems is the level of languages. For be C1 (advanced) Duolingo isn't enough.

"Learning a language by playing"
Kommentare: Overall, it is a very useful software if you want to learn a new language, easy to use, and it is also very entertaining, unlocking levels while watching your progress is very efficient while learning. The free version is very interesting, but they also have a monthly subscription that unlocks new levels.
Vorteile: What I liked the most is that the software teaches you a series of languages in an entertaining way. The idea of unlocking levels to advance your knowledge of a language is fantastic. Also, the interface of the software is very easy to use. The interaction with the levels is a lot of fun.
Nachteile: What I liked the least was that the subscription to the premium version of the software does not offer you many new things compared to the free version, beyond new levels.

"Learning with pleasure!"
Kommentare: Duolingo is a very trustworthy and budget-friendly software. It is secured and easy to use. It enables me a new window for improving my learning skill.
Vorteile: Duolingo is a great software for learning foreign languages. The most fantastic feature of it is that you will learn new languages while playing with their following instructions. I have started learning the Spanish language from Duolingo. It seems that Spanish is not very difficult to learn with Duolingo. I have already learned many Spanish word meanings with pictures. F will provide you the learning procedure in your native language so you can learn perfectly. I prefer learning Spanish to English. For using Duolingo you have to select your native language then you have to select which language you prefer to learn from Duolingo. It will keep you notify about your progress and keep you ingage with interesting tasks.
Nachteile: Duolingo is my favorite software for learning foreign languages. I do not have any issue with Duolingo.

"Language Learning App"
Kommentare: I learned about Duolingo from friends. I have been speaking English for many years and learned the language on my own and Duolingo has helped me greatly to correct the grammatical mistakes I used to make.
Vorteile: It is an amazing platform that helps a lot to learn a new language. For those who already know the language, it also helps a lot by helping to correct small mistakes. The methodology and interface make the platform unique and special.
Nachteile: In my opinion, there is not much to complain about. Maybe some exercises to do in the absence of an internet signal would help...I like to use it myself when I am on the road and often I pass through blind spots.

"The most amazing app to learn language."
Kommentare: Duolingo has been teaching me Spanish very effectively and within a very few days I find myself familiar with quite a good number of Spanish words. It gets better and better and it can be felt.
Vorteile: In my opinion duo is the best language learning app out there. You can use most of its main features for free, and the paid version is more amazing and not that much costly. Duo on Duolingo has been my friend for a very long time. Teaches language in a way it should be.
Nachteile: Honestly I cannot find anything to mention as bad side. Everything about this app is awesome. An optional theme upgrade can make it more attractive.

"Fantastic tool for learing languages"
Kommentare: It is reliable and up-to-date software. Trustworthy and user-friendly software I have ever found. I highly recommend the software.
Vorteile: The software provides an easy and understandable platform for a learner to grab the opportunity for earning other languages. It teaches you gradually and boosts your skills in a manner way instead of being dull and exhausted. It will engage you in different games for relaxing your mind along with learning the language simultaneously. It allows a learner to refresh their mind with interest in learning other languages which enhances their progress in life.
Nachteile: I never find it any difficult to use. It is interesting without being frustrating. It has lots of funs with professional benefits.

"How to Master new language? Try Duolingo"
Kommentare: After using it for a couple years so far, I can say that I am more than satisfied with Duo, especially after I started learning German daily with the use of it ( currently I am at my 358 day with 234 crowns and I want more knowledge, more skills and of course more Duo ). I would like to see more improvments in Duolinguo and if possible, that they return as officially recognized by LinkedIn as well, as I would like to boost more my German, share it with my connections and eventually land a new and better job thanks to it.
Vorteile: I love that feeling of accomplishment after new skill was acquired or new level gained ( and crown for it too ). It teaches me the basics of some language and it is free too, but I would like to see even more chapters in future, as you can't get enough of it.
Nachteile: I don't like the new system with five hearts ( for five negative answers, after which you fail a lesson ), but I understand it is there in order for this platform to keep being free for everyone and because of that I don't mind it too much. In the other hand, I would like to get more things which can be bought in the Duolingo shop, maybe some new outfits for Duo and especially more advanced skills for languages.

"Excellent support to other language learning tactics/lessons/scenarios"
Kommentare: I have used Duolingo on and off again for years now. I've used it to support my Norwegian language lessons, and I've used it to practice my French as I was planning on going in to be a French Immersion teacher (then COVID hit so those plans got cancelled). I recommend it to families I've known through schools I work in as an EA, and I recommend it to my stepkids to support their learning. It's just a great program to practice what is already being taught, bearing in mind differences in accents, and localized slang. It is a great place to learn formal language skills however and then when you visit or move or meet people from another place you can pick up on the slang or more relaxed language skills then and there. I would not use it exclusively for learning a language, you need more conversations with people and turtors and real life experience, but it's a great support and great jumping off point for basic language skills.
Vorteile: It's a clean layout, easy to navigate, fun, nice animation. I've been able to recommend it to people as a free language support enhance their (or their kids') learning (essentially good for everyone young and old).
Nachteile: When using as a support for other language lessons (for me I used it to support my French, Spanish, and Norwegian learning/lessons) it can be hard to understand some of the verbal prompts; as a Canadian I am learning Quebecois French accent and vernacular, and my Norwegian lessons in person were with one kind of accent (very formal language and generic accent) however when I moved to Norway for 6 months I was actually in a completely different dialect than is presented in Duolingo and most of my lessons went out the window (though they were a good jumping off point for the language generally speaking, but Norway has as many dialects as Ireland has regional accents).

"A must have for anyone interested in language learning or teaching"
Kommentare: Duolingo is a great app for whoever wants to learn, start learning or just stay engaged with the languages they're interested in. I use it to learn Japanese and whenever I develop an interest for any language, Duolingo is the first app that comes to mind. I've used several other software to try to learn but I always come back to Duolingo.
Vorteile: I teach languages for a living and one of the biggest challenges was to gauge how much and exactly what the students know. With Duolingo my job became a lot easier with their Duolingo For Schools product. Duolingo already makes language learning fairly simple by avoiding to overcomplicate the learning process with dense grammar and leaning towards a more intuitive experience but when they introduced this new feature on top of that it only made my love for the app even deeper.
Nachteile:
Duolingo is a very intuitive app but it falls short when it comes to certain features. For example: it's very difficult to set up Duolingo For Schools and in the mobile app there isn't even any button for it. The student has to go to the settings and look for it.
Also, Duolingo has features for some languages and not for others. I guess this is due to the time it takes to create content but until the day comes this will always feel like a downside.

"The best app I've found to learn a language from A to Z for free"
Kommentare: I simply love it, and I recommend it to all my friends and colleagues. It made me progress so much in 3 different languages in a very short period of time.
Vorteile: The free app is more than enough, the paid version adding a few (relatively) unnecessary perks. There are more languages available than I can count, including endangered ones, and more keep being added. The exercises being based on repetition, you're learning easily without realizing how fast words are being memorized by your brain. The fact that it's usable on the phone or on the computer makes it all the more convenient.
Nachteile: I wish the app could provide a more complete grammar page and an actual dictionary of all the words learned so far.

"Best tool to learn a language"
Kommentare: I have always liked learning languages but unfortunately, if they are not practised they are forgotten and we lose money. Duolingo has personally helped me remember vocabulary and practice languages that I studied several years ago.
Vorteile:
The app is easy to use for both children and adults. It has several functionalities and is very complete. It is not necessary to get the premium version to access its content.
it works to learn a new language or to practise one you already know.
Nachteile: The app still needs to add several languages and if the native language of a person is not found it is impossible to use it. Another thing that is not so good is that it sends too many alerts and notifications

"Addicting language learner!"
Kommentare: Overall, it is an effective language learning app. I like the fact that it engages all modalities of learning. From the excellent audio narration to the definitions available when the user long-pushes each word in a sentence, the app is varied in its approach to teaching languages. I especially like the feature where the user can discuss a concept with others in a chat room! And there is a chat room for almost every section of instruction! The only feature I do not appreciate are the commercials.
Vorteile: I live the "gameification" aspect of the app. You want to advance in your learning to unlock awards and get to the next level... just like in a video game! Anyone who has a competitive nature, such as myself, loves this! Pushing myself to get the next achievement. Learning becomes fun again through the use of games!
Nachteile: The commercials that appear, without the user's permission, are not appreciated. There never used to be commercials in the past. Additionally, there is a lot of fill-in-the-blank and matching learning exercises, whereas earlier in the app's history, most exercises consisted of vocabulary memorization. I really liked the past emphasis that was placed on the development of a large vocab base and think that with it now missing, the opportunities for effective learning are limited.

"Serious language acquisition available here"
Kommentare: I have enjoyed 7+ months of daily challenges in Duolingo. I was already functionally fluent in Spanish when I began, but have seen improvement with this daily practice. I am learning new vocabulary and solidifying past knowledge, all while correcting mistakes I had picked up along the way.
Vorteile: I was pleased with the initial process. Duo gave me an initial assessment to determine my existing level of proficiency. This allowed me to effectively "test out of" as the entire first level and begin at a stage where my skills were instantly being challenged. This challenge made each session feel meaningful and has kept my attention over time.
Nachteile: I am using the free version, so it will probably not surprise anyone to learn my least favorite part are the ads. Included in the ads are ads for how to stop the ads, but I am not inclined to pay for the premium features. While less ads would make it quicker, even the ads are not excessive to the point of being overly annoying.

"Excellent to learn any language"

I have been using Duolingo for 5 years, and I think it's really great!
At the beginning it was not very good, it has little features etc, but now it's really great!
Vorteile: In the years it has become a really great app to learn new languages! You get motivated by ranking, promotions, reminders. I learned the basics of a lot of languages. To have the most languages available you need to select "English" as your first language. Now the software has also listening and speaking parts, podcasts, stories... Simply amazing!!
Nachteile: Some features (like listening) are available only on the app version and not on the desktop one. However it's great!

"Duolingo Review"
Kommentare: Its a quick, easy and fun way to learn!
Vorteile: Duolingo is a fun game like app that helps you learn the basics of another language. The lessons are quick so I can do as many as I have time for. Fun way to learn and compete against other users. I like that your steaks are counted to keep you wanting to do a lesson every day. There are many different languages to choose from to learn.
Nachteile: Some of the sentences you learn are most likely not something you would ever say. There are a lot of ads unless you pay for the pro version. Wish there were different topics and maybe ones that where a bit more exciting. Id say its more for beginners not those who already know the language. Must be used with internet unless you pay for pro.

Who doesn't know what Duolingo is!
the only app I recommend to my students is Duolingo. I tried it myself before recommending it to my classes and I found it really helpful. I learned Spanish in no time. I was just experiencing Duolingo at that time to see how far it can help me learn Spanish, and it attracted me until I was addicted to it.
I love the whole app and all of its features and stages!

I highly recommended it to anybody reading this review!
Nachteile: there is nothing I would hate about this app.

"The easiest and fastest way to learn a new language"
Kommentare: Had a great experience overall, and have learned two knew languages so far.
Vorteile: I loved the interaction of the software on teaching you a new language. It will entertain you as you learn, which is always a plus.
Nachteile: Nothing, really. The software is great as is, or at least to me it is.

However, since the leagues have been brought in, I find that sometimes you just complete easy stories/lessons just to maintain your position in the league and not really pushing yourself to learn new words.
Vorteile:
Duolingo is easy to use, either on the web browser on in the app.
There is a league, so you can compete with other learners completing lessons. There are also timer challenges.
Nachteile: Some of the features have recently been moved, so now, it's not that easy to see your ranking in the league.

"Addictive Language Learning"
Kommentare: Fun and time-consuming, but the end result felt lacking.
Vorteile: Duolingo offers a wider variety of courses, ensuring you can learn the language you love best. The gamification keeps you coming back for more and wishing you had more time in your life for learning.
Nachteile: I was learning German, and anyone who has tried that will know that gendering of nouns makes sense in theory but can be seemingly random in practice. Duolingo seemed to forget this fact and teaches the basics before throwing you to the dogs. I lost my precious hearts so quickly that my learning completely stalled out.

"Duolingo para practicar tus idiomas"
Kommentare: Descubrí Duolingo hace un par de años y la verdad es genial para mantenerte aprendiendo y ocupando de la mejor manera tus tiempos de ocio, si estas tomando clases de algún idioma siempre puedes complementarlas con Duolingo y es una herramienta fantástica para no olvidar lo que ya has aprendido.
Vorteile: Lo que mas me gusta es la forma interactiva que tiene para aprender cada idioma, a través de imágenes, hablar y escribir lo que vas aprendiendo, es muy grafico y entretenido aprender y además puedes desbloquear etapas adicionales con temáticas, es genial para practicar y tener nociones básicas de un idioma.
Nachteile: Lo que menos me ha gustado es que a veces falta opciones para aprender un idioma desde tu lengua materna, por ejemplo para aprender Holandés no esta la opción para hacerlo desde el Español, quizá podrían mejorar eso ya que sin duda me gustaría poder aprender muchos mas idiomas.

"Languages are easy with this app!"
Kommentare: My overall experience has been wonderful, I learned new languages such as Spanish and Italian. Now, I know at least the basics. There is even a feature where I considered buying to see what happens. Overall, I would totally recommend this app for beginners.
Vorteile: The misconception from learning languages narrows to two main points: the difficulty and the lack of time. These are exactly the points in which Duolingo breaks. This app breaks the stereotypes by setting realistic goals with timed intervals. More than that, it is easy to understand and it motivates you to upgrade your level with dignity.
Nachteile: For Asian languages this app might not me the ideal one. For Latin languages it works fine but for Mandarin, Korean, and Japanese the app misses key points such as how to properly form a phase if the written system is totally different and difficult to follow.
