Sage 50cloud Accounting

A good, robust, accounting package

Vorteile:

I like the structured way the system is set up, and that it makes it very easy for seasoned accountants to work with the "nitty-gritty".

Nachteile:

I am not sure I would say there is anything I don't like, perhaps the one thing I find a bit complicated is the import function.

Sage slowly catching up with Xero, QuickBooks and others

Kommentare: It is definitely getting better and better but still lagging behind Xero or QuickBooks

Vorteile:

It now does most, if not all of the things expected from online software for bookkeeping and accounts.

Nachteile:

The feel is still old fashioned, not very intuitive, though for people coming from desktop Sage this should not be a problem. Still not many apps link with Sage, compared to e.g. Xero

Please stay away for your own sanity.

Kommentare: Horrific experience. Data integrity is not something they concern themselves with in their software. Our files got corrupted. They couldn't tell us how or why and told us some third party data repair people to contact. I don't believe they have anyone left who actually understands the code of their software. Their data repair team is one person and he could not solve it. I was in utter disbelief that after not being able to fix our data that they told us to try some third parties. So you risk losing your company data using this software. We can't generate legitimate income statements or balance sheets anymore and are having to switch to a new provider.

Vorteile:

The software is pretty easy and intuitive and would be good if it worked, but it fundamentally does not work. Not like it doesn't work for us, it just doesn't work and they can't tell us why. By not work, I mean scenarios like you enter a purchase invoice for inventory and the inventory number doesn't go up by the amount you bought and then the program adjusts starting inventory values (from 15 years ago) on the fly.

Nachteile:

It is not remote capable like it says. Our files get corrupted constantly and they blame it on the cloud computing. We have corruptions that no one at sage knows how to fix and they don't continue to fix it. They have no problem leaving a small business dangling and had the audacity to refer us to a third party. They don't have any recommendations or help on how to avoid corruptions. They don't have any utilities to help fix the corruptions we have. Their solution is to usually restore from a backup, but they don't have anyway to download and re-upload transactions from the period between the backup and current so you have to print off all your old transactions and then re-enter them. In the cases where they do manage to fix a corrupted file, they charge you for that "privilege". The software also doesn't necessarily keep debits and credits in balance. They're posted solution for this are some custom admin transactions to force balance, rather than find the source of their own non-double entry errors. If for example the accounts receivable ledger doesn't match the sum of the customer sub-ledgers, they don't have a way to see what their program got wrong, they tell you to do an adjusting force balance entry. Same goes for inventory and accounts payable. It may be related to our unsolvable data corruption issues, but again, they don't have a solution for the underlying missed transaction - they say to ignore it and force the books to balance.

Sage50 review

Kommentare: Overall the experience with Sage has been positive.

Vorteile:

Ease of use. Unlimited number of products, customers and vendors you can have.

Nachteile:

There is a limited number of characters you can enter into shipping and billing addresses

Product Activation

Kommentare: Support and honesty is not their best asset. They are being dishonest and not honoring their perpetual licensing agreements.

Vorteile:

Very good Accounting Software at the time of purchase, Not so any longer.

Nachteile:

Peachtree has taken it upon themselves to deactivate perpetual licenses that I have purchased, meaning I have versions 2009, 2011, 2013, 2020 that I use for several different clients. I can no longer use these on my different computer or reactivate them on a new machine. They are trying to force me to upgrade to their cloud accounting system and I do not want my clients information on anyone's cloud. This is the primary reason I purchased Sage accounting to keep data on my own computers. Sage does not have the right to force me to keep my accounting records on a cloud not do they have the right to cancel my perpetual licenses. This action by Sage is nothing less than dishonest and is cheating the customers that the say they value. I have been using Peachtree accounting since their very first version in the early 1990s. now I have to find or write a software to fill my needs.

Cloud accounting

Kommentare: Very easy to use, overall Sage 50cloud Accounting is a great accounting mate.

Vorteile:

If you are used to Sage is very easy to use and setup. It includes a lot of helpful features and great reporting features. Support is great.

Nachteile:

Sometimes the loading speed is just awful (my internet connection is very fast, do not blame my side), slow loading. UI can be upgraded a little, but this is not a deal breaker.

Sage Accounting

Kommentare: Sage is one of the best accounting software i know. Is not perfect but the way is build makes it easy to use and a good accounting software.

Vorteile:

Working with Sage is not hard at all, is was build to be intuitive and easy to sue. After connecting it with the bank account reconciliation works great and is very fast to do. Downloading the reports from Sage is easy they are very informative and complete.

Nachteile:

Slow loading problems are very frequent.

Sage for accounts

Kommentare: I have used sage for many years and Ann very happy as the ease and reliability

Vorteile:

That can share with colleagues and work remotely at home

Nachteile:

Nothing completely happy with this product never let me down

Sage software

Kommentare: very good accounting program at both basic and advanced levels

Vorteile:

basic appearance of the program, simple and clear accounting program

Difficult contact with customer service, It's difficult to contact by phone

Written for Accountants, but, not over complex to use.

Expense, but, you do get helplines which are super.

Sage Accounts - The complete solution

Kommentare: We have used Sage for years, and have no intention of moving. We're used to it's GUI and it just works.

Vorteile:

There's so much to like. The interface, although hasn't changed for a number of years, is incredibly easy to use. The screens are quick to move around, and the support, should you need it, is awesome. Really friendly guys on the phone and sympathetic.

Nachteile:

The fact that there isn't a mobile App is disappointing. We have also found that the latest Windows builds are incredibly heavy on the CPU and RAM, which makes for older PCs to be a problem.

Very Familiar

Kommentare: I prefer sage software as I am more familiar with it.

Vorteile:

The aesthetics of it and how easy it is to move form one company to another as it was taught in university - has the familiarities of the software

Nachteile:

It's quite expensive for some small business like ourselves - but can be cheaper

Sage 50Cloud

Kommentare: Great software for everyday use in accounting & keeping track of payables / receivables.

Vorteile:

How easy it is to manage and use on a daily basis.

Nachteile:

Some days it's a bit slow, especially trying to load past reports or sending out statements.

Good product but not so easy to use

Vorteile:

It was the first system I have learned to do book keeping so it's easy enough for a newbie to learn the basics.

Nachteile:

Don't make a mistake because it is hard to modify an entry.

Sage Review

Vorteile:

Allows easy processing of invoices and tracking of money received. Simple enough interface for a beginner to get used to. Processes can be done very quickly with the way it is designed.

Nachteile:

The UI looks very outdated and has not really changed since release. Very crowded interface.

SME accounting buddy

Vorteile:

I would say sage50 it's a very easy to use and easy to work with accounting solution for small business who doesn’t need so much overhead when it comes to keeping their books good and nice.

Nachteile:

It's a good tool for small businesses and there's little to nothing not to like about it.

Would Not Recommend-Not Reliable

Vorteile:

I loved the thought of accessing my Sage 50 platform via the cloud services.

Nachteile:

This was not a reliable method of accessing Sage 50. It fails to load repeatedly and little help from customer service to resolve the issue.

Business practices

Kommentare: Sage 50 has performed inconsistently for the past year. We migrated from the desktop version. We intermittently required their support to reestablish connection to our network. Today they refused to assist unless we upgraded our support at 2X the cost. Sketchy business practices.

Vorteile:

Loved it years ago when it was simpler to use, was less bloated, and customer service was awesome. It no longer is.

Nachteile:

Problems arise, and the tech departments have NO CLUE how to fix the program. My list of issues goes on and on, after talking repeatedly with their tech team. They're a complete waste of time! First, it takes HOURS to get a hold of anyone to get on the line, and/or to call back. And when they do, if things need to be escalated, well GOOD LUCK with that! You'll be lucky if they call you back in a day or two! In the meantime, your program is jacked! We're paying for cloud backup. It worked fine until we installed one of their upgrades. Now it no longer works. Want to know why? Yeah, we'd like to know why, too! Their tech team was UNABLE to figure it out! Can't update any of my user security settings. Just NONE. They're all grayed out. Why? Well, your guess is as good as their tech team, because they don't know why either! Done. I just instructed my accounting team to backup all they can, and we're moving over to Quickbooks. They can't possibly be as pathetic as Sage 50 / Peachtree!!

Very poor customer service no support for issues which affect the business

Kommentare: we have a number of companies and the customer support for issues is very poor i am told have to wait 2 days to get access for the software i am paying for so i have to stop my business for two days so sage can help me get access the online help chats just keeps going in circle's

Good Accounting Software

Vorteile:

Ease of use is what we enjoyed using this software

Nachteile:

We manufacture products therefore needed lot control however SAGE50 only allows serial lot control which made it more overall work to control our products.

Easy to use and cost effective.

Kommentare: I have been using Sage 50 for the past 4 year and I am extremely satisfied with the results. The software is user-friendly and easy to navigate, which has made it easy for me to manage and keep track of key accounts, income and expenses (PO’s)One of the things I like most about Sage 50 is the customisable dashboard, which allows me to see all important information I want at a glance. I can also create custom reports and track any metric I wish which has been extremely helpful.The software also integrates seamlessly with other tools and platforms, which makes it easy to share data with other team members.Overall, I highly recommend Sage 50 for anyone in need of a reliable and efficient accounting software. It has made managing the financial side of business so much easier and has given me the peace of mind to focus on growing the business.

Vorteile:

Easy to integrate and set up, updates don’t have an effect on the business and haven’t ever been detrimental to the “Day to day running”. Ability to add users as required is massively beneficial, raising orders, invoices and managing accounts/debtors is so simple.

Nachteile:

The frequency which it can freeze by trying to cancel an action, is very poor. Surly “cancel” should do just that.

Super Integrated Cloud Accounting and Finance app

Kommentare: I found this accounting software to be very useful mainly to small and medium size companies and to a limited extent, to some large companies. It performs all the basic accounting functions relating to accounts receivables and accounts payables, inventory management, cash management and budgeting and compiling and producing financial statements.

Vorteile:

1. Sage 50c offers user friendly navigation tools such as the menu bar, the tool bar, system navigation and function and shortcut keys. 2. The software has cloud storage 3. A user can easily create and setup a new company using the Auto Setup facility 4. One can also easily create and edit general ledger accounts, inventory categories/items, supplier and customer accounts, among others. 5. A user can easily import/export data from other sources. This saves a lot of time. 6. The software is integrated with other apps, for example, Microsoft emails and excel

Nachteile:

1. Sage 50c requires proper and adequate training. The training is expensive 2. On average, it is expensive to buy this accounting package. 3. The integration with other apps (accounting and non-accounting) is still limited. 4. Sage 50c does not run on some operating systems, for example, windows NT.

My favourite accounting software by a clear mile - Sage is in its own league

Kommentare: I love using sage, i use daily in our business, if ever i need assistance from a Sage expert they are available by phone, online chat, or you can jump in daily webinars that run all day for a quick bit of help/ advice. I would never use a different accounts programme, sage has no limitations.

Vorteile:

Its so user friendly, its so easy to teach people how to use it when they are new to sage. It has an incredible amount of detail in its reporting features - it is very clever, it links with outlook - you can get very inexpensive add ons to aide with credit control. Its so cheap compared to other systems yet so much more efficient. Sage will always be in its own league when compared to others.

Nachteile:

I have no cons to report, I have found zero issues/ cons whilst working with it for over 10 years.
